We Rest to Rise:
A Winter Solstice Practice
As the darkest night of the year turns towards light, this Winter Solstice practice invites you to puase, soften, and reconnect with your inner spark. In this class we will explore what we may be ready to release as we make space for renewal.
We'll begin with grounding breath-work and gentle joint-freeing movements to warm the body and calm the mind. We'll then transition into 108 Sun Salutations, completed in accessible rounds with plenty of breaks and modifications offered. Practicing 108 Sun Salutes is a traditional ritual during seasonal transitions. Moving through these repetitions becomes a meditation in motion, helping us shed old layers and welcome the returning light.
We'll close with a long, nourishing Yoga Nidra practice - a guided deep rest meditation. In this state between wakefulness and dreaming, the body relaxes completely while the mind remains gently aware, allowing for profound restoration and integation.
